We often forget that there are many practical things that can be done to generate electricity from with a very minimul investment from things we can find at the hardware store or in the junk yard. If your looking for all of this to look like 21 Century product then disappointment will surely follow but like I said practiacal yes , cosmetic no. Simple things like Whirly bird roof vents can be mounted on a board with the shaft attached to an old alternator. These turn with little wind which could generate power to charge a battery or multiple batteries. These items can be made yourself or if you know someone with more talent then pay them, whatever works for you.
